Current pick: Calgary Flames - No. 30
Round 1 - LIVE
1. Maple Leafs - Gavin McKenna (LW, Penn State - NCAA)
McKenna becomes just the third No. 1 pick in Maple Leafs history after Auston Matthews (2016) and Wendel Clark (1985). The phenom tied the WHL all-time point streak record after recording at least one point in 54 straight games with the Medicine Hat Tigers.
He broke Alexander Ovechkin and Macklin Celebrini's scoring record for a 16-year-old at the World U18 Championship, then went on to dominate at Penn State. McKenna destroyed Penn State's single-game point record after putting up eight, yes, eight, thanks to one goal and seven assists. Those seven assists were also a Big 10 conference single-game record.
The Yukon native finished his lone year at Penn State, breaking the single-season points record by a freshman with 51 after recording 15 goals and 36 assists in 35 games.
2. Sharks - Ivar Stenberg (LW/RW, Frolunda - SHL)
The 18-year-old took the Swedish Hockey League by storm despite playing against veterans. His 10-straight games with a point is the most ever by someone under 19, while his 33 points are the fifth-most ever by an 18-year-old in a single SHL season.
His 22 assists tied Swedish legend Henrik Sedin for the most ever by someone under 18. Stenberg will now become a vital piece of the Sharks' success going forward, plugging right alongside Celebrini after the Sharks dealt William Eklund to the Ottawa Senators.
3. Canucks - Caleb Malhotra (C, Brantford - OHL)
The 18-year-old son of Canucks head coach Manny Malhotra is coming off a record-breaking season for the Brantford Bulldogs. Malhotra set the Bulldogs' single-season assist record with his 51st, totaling 55 on the season, paired with 29 goals in 67 games.
The Canucks are getting one of the top offensive producers in this draft, and that's a huge need for a team that tied the Blackhawks for the second-fewest goals (210) last season.
4. Sabres - Daxon Rudolph (D, Prince Albert - WHL)
In a stunner of a pick, Rudolph shot up the draft board and goes to a Sabres team that recently traded young star defenseman Bowen Byram to the Blackhawks for this pick.
The Zach Werenski comparisons could hold merit. Rudolph is coming off a 28-goal, 50-assist season (68 games) in the WHL this past season.
5. Rangers - Alberts Smits (D, Jukurit - Liiga)
After making a blockbuster trade for Pavel Dorofeyev (details here) just moments before the pick, the Rangers take the star Latvian defenseman.
Smits is now the highest-drafted Latvian player in NHL history and will be joining a Rangers squad that is absolutely desperate for blue-liners after finishing near the bottom of the Eastern Conference last season.
6. Flames - Carson Carels (D, Prince George - WHL)
7. Kraken - Chase Reid (D, Sault Ste. Marie - OHL)
8. Jets - Viggo Bjorck (C, Djugardens Jr. - SWE-JR)
9. Sharks - Keaton Verhoeff (D, North Dakota - NCAA)
10. Predators - Wyatt Cullen (RW, USA - U-18)
11. Blues - Tynan Lawrence (C, Boston University - NCAA)
12. Devils - Alexander Command (C, Obebro Jr. - SWE)
13. Islanders - Malte Gustafsson (D, HV71 - SWE)
14. Blue Jackets - Oscar Hemming (LW, Boston College - NCAA)
15. Ducks - Nikita Klepov (RW, Saginaw - OHL)
The St. Louis Blues traded the No. 15 and No. 29 picks to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Mason McTavish.
16. Blues - Maddox Dagenais (C, Quebec - QMJHL)
17. Mammoth - Ethan Belchetz (LW, Windsor - OHL)
The Los Angeles Kings traded the No. 17 pick to the Utah Mammoth in exchange for picks No. 19 and No. 83.
18. Capitals - Oliver Suvanto (C, Tappara - FIN)
19. Kings - Elton Hermansson (RW, Modo - SWE)
20. Sabres - Ilia Morozov (C, Miami (OH) - NCAA)
21. Sharks - Ryan Lin (D, Vancouver - WHL)
The Philadelphia Flyers traded the No. 21 pick to the San Jose Sharks for picks No. 27, 62, and 120.
22. Penguins - Liam Ruck (RW, Medicine Hat - WHL)
23. Red Wings - JP Hurblert (LW, Kamloops - WHL)
The Utah Mammoth traded the No. 23 pick to the Detroit Red Wings for Sebastian Cossa.
24. Canucks - Adam Novotny (LW, Peterborough (OHL)
25. Senators - Jonas Lagerber Hoen (RW, Leksands Jr. - SWE)
26. Canadiens - Gleb Pugachyov (RW, Nizhny Novgorod Jr. - RUS)
The Vegas Golden Knights traded the No. 26 pick to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for the No. 28 pick and a 2027 third-round pick
27. Flyers - Maksim Sokolovskii (D, London - OHL)
28. Ducks - Marcus Nordmark (LW, Djurgarden Jr. - SWE)

30. Flames - ON THE CLOCK
31. Hurricanes
32. Senators
