Argentinian midfielder Leandro Paredes has been suspended for 10 matches due to the "incidents" that occurred at the end of the World Cup final lost against Spain, FIFA announced on Friday.

For the same reason, his teammate Nahuel Molina received a seven-match suspension. Like Paredes, he will have to pay a $90,000 fine. Thiago Almada is the last Argentinian to be sanctioned, with a one-match suspension and a $30,000 fine.

Two team members - Roberto Ayala and Pablo Martin Paez Gavira - were also banned for their involvement and given a fine of $30,000

"In accordance with Article 69, paragraphs 2a and 3 of the Disciplinary Code, the match suspensions will be carried over to the next matches of the relevant representative teams," FIFA specified.

The Argentinian federation itself has been fined $321,000 due to the banner about the Malvinas, for "violation of Article 13, paragraph 2, point c) (using a sporting event to carry out non-sporting demonstrations), Article 14, paragraph 5 (inappropriate behavior by a team), Article 15 (Discrimination and racist assaults), due to discriminatory chants and gestures by its supporters, and Article 17 (Order and security during matches) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC)".

All parties may appeal the decision.
