Colorado star quarterback Shedeur Sanders (23) told NFL Network on Sunday that he won't throw at the upcoming NFL Combine.

Sanders, the son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders (57), clarified that he wanted to focus on the interviews for each team during the combine and that he would throw, and workout, for scouts during Colorado's pro day - no date has been set at this time.

The 23-year-old senior is coming off his best season after throwing a 74 percent completion percentage along with 4,134 passing yards, 37 passing touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

Sanders is a projected top-10 pick in the NFL Draft, which takes place from April 24th to April 26th, with some draft boards projecting him to be a top-three pick.

NFL Combine vs. Pro Day

For those unfamiliar, the Combine is where draft prospects perform a series of certain workouts for teams and their scouts to assess physical capabilities (40-yard dash for speed, bench press for strength, etc.). They also conduct formal interviews with teams that request them.

The NFL Combine begins on Thursday, February 27th, in Indianapolis Indiana.

Current Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy set an NFL record at last year's Combine.

On the other hand, every college with NFL Draft prospects will have personal workout days where NFL scouts will go to each team's respective campus to evaluate draft prospects from that given school with specific workouts to test their abilities at their respective positions.

Pro Days are usually reserved for prospects who are looking to stand out more while the Combine is usually for higher-end prospects who are there to potentially up their already-high status ahead of the draft.

The former is more of a relaxed, comfortable setting for players while the latter is more professional.

Pro Days typically take place after the NFL Combine is finished.
