The Dallas Cowboys hired former Arizona Cardinals offensive line coach Klayton Adams (41) as their offensive coordinator position, according to multiple sources.

The two parties already conducted an online interview earlier this week soon after the team announced Brian Schottenheimer as their new head coach. Now. Adams will work opposite Matt Eberflus, who was recently hired as the new defensive coordinator.

He spent the first four years of his NFL coaching career as an offensive line coach and tight ends coach for the Indianapolis Colts before heading to Arizona, where he spent the previous two seasons.

This will be Adams' first time in his NFL coaching career working as a team's offensive coordinator.

Dallas also interviewed Detroit Lions assistant head coach and running backs coach Scottie Montgomery for the position along with Ken Dorsey, who was fired from the Cleveland Browns this past season, and Kevin Kroeger, the Atlanta Falcons tight end coach.

However, Schottenheimer is still expected to handle the offensive playcalling this upcoming season for the Cowboys.
