The Houston Texans claimed wide receiver Diontae Johnson (28) off waivers ahead of the team's game against the Baltimore Ravens on Christmas Day.

The former Ravens receiver, who the team acquired via trade at this year's deadline from the Carolina Panthers, will now be heading to Houston just in time for the anticipated Christmas Day matchup.

Johnson was let go by the Ravens after the receiver was suspended from team activities following an incident a few weeks ago during the team's matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles when he refused to enter the game.

The waiver wire pickup comes at a crucial team for the Texans. The AFC South champs lost their young star receiver in Tank Dell for the foreseeable future after dislocating his knee and tearing an ACL during Sunday's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs

Johnson wanted playing time. Well, now he has the opportunity.

The six-year veteran had just one reception for six yards for the Ravens. During his stint on the Panthers this season, he had 30 receptions for 357 yards and three touchdowns.
