The Houston Texans signed defensive end Danielle Hunter (30) to a one-year extension worth $35.6 million, according to multiple NFL insiders.

The new deal now makes Hunter the second-highest-paid defensive end behind Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett ($40 million/year) and Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby ($35.5 million/year).

Hunter will now make $32 million this upcoming season and $55.1 million over the next two years with $54.1 million guaranteed (in total).

The five-time Pro Bowl pass-rusher originally signed a two-year deal worth $49 million with the Texans before the 2024 season.

Hunter is coming off an excellent year for the Texans after racking up 46 tackles, 34 quarterback pressures, 23 quarterback hits, 17 tackles for a loss, 12 sacks, and three pass deflections.

Hunter has now gone three straight seasons with double-digit sacks. His 12 this past year led the Texans as part of the dominant pass-rush duo with Will Anderson Jr., who had 11 sacks.
