The San Francisco 49ers signed star linebacker Fred Warner to a three-year, $63 million contract extension on Monday.

The new deal will keep Warner under contract through the 2029 season and brings in $56.7 million, making him the highest-paid linebacker in the NFL.

Warner has been named First-Team All-Pro the past three straight seasons and four times in the past five years.

Last season, Warner posted 131 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, and seven pass deflections while tying his career-high in forced fumbles with four.

The seven-year veteran and former 70th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft had a pair of interceptions last season but also posted his second-worst opponent passer rating of his career (97.5).

However, Warner is the only player in the entire NFL since his rookie year in 2018 with at least 10 sacks, interceptions (10), forced fumbles (15), and pass deflections (53)

Warner will be turning 29 in November.
