Grubb was hired as the team's offensive coordinator before the season started and is now out of a job 17 games later.
"We're looking for the right fit (and) the type of person that's going to come in and lead our offence," said head coach Mike Macdonald.
This was Grubb's first season in the NFL following his departure from the University of Washington after they decided to go elsewhere with their head coaching decision before the start of the 2024 college season.
The Seahawks offence ranked 14th in the league this past season while ranking 8th in passing and 28th in rushing. Seattle also ranked 18th in both points per game (22.1) and total points (375).
Quarterback Geno Smith through a career-high 4,320 yards under Grubb's offence, which also was fourth in the entire league, but also threw the most interceptions (15) since his rookie year (21).
Running back Kenneth Walker III saw a drastic drop in yards (573) after rushing for 905 in 2023. However, it could be due to him missing five games. But Walker saw an uptick in the passing game, going from 29 receptions and 259 yards in 2023 to 46 receptions and 299 yards this year.
Meanwhile, Zach Charbonnet had a solid second year with 135 rushes, 569 yards, and eight touchdowns. Rookie wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba had a breakout year with 1,130 yards (12th) and six touchdowns while D.K. Metcalf was just eight yards short of reaching 1,000 for the third straight year.
Seattle will have the 18th pick of the first round in the 2025 NFL Draft after finishing the season 10-7.
