The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced on Thursday that former head coach Jon Gruden (61) will be reinstated into the team's Ring of Honor following the email controversy.

Tampa Bay will put Gruden's name back up in Raymond James Stadium but won't hold a new ceremony.

The team removed Gruden from the Ring of Honor in 2021 after a massive email leak revealed many racist and misogynistic comments from the former coach and ESPN analyst.

He was fired while he was the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders due to these emails that spanned eight years between 2010 and 2018.

Gruden won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in 2003 against the Oakland Raiders and finished his 15-year coaching career with a 117-112 record.

At the time, it was the Bucs first ever Super Bowl victory before legendary quarterback Tom Brady led them to their second in 2021.
