Houston Texans starting running back Joe Mixon (29) will miss a couple of weeks after injuring his foot recently.
The team stated that Mixon should be ready for Week 1's matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on September 7th.
Mixon was placed on the non-football injury list, meaning the injury didn't occur during training camp drills.
Houston's veteran back is coming off his first 1,000-yard season with the team after putting up 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground in 14 games.
The 2024 season marked Mixon's fifth season in eight years putting up at least 1,000 yards and his sixth with at least eight total touchdowns.
Mixon was drafted 48th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, where he spent the next seven years until the team traded him to the Texans, where he signed a three-year extension worth $27 million.
