Anders Antonsen looked physically hampered, but fought his way to a spot in the final of the Super 750 tournament French Open.
Antonsen won on Friday over Danish compatriot Viktor Axelsen in a tough quarter-final in three sets, and that may have left its mark on the Dane's physique.
Despite starting difficulties, Antonsen booked his ticket to the final with a victory over World No. 4, Li Shi Feng from China, 15-21, 21-19, 21-13.
Antonsen struggled in the opening phase and clearly lost the first set in the semi-final against a strongly playing Shi Feng Li.
Just when it looked like a matter of the Chinese to finish the job, the Dane showed great character and turned the momentum of the semi-final.
In Sunday's final, Antonsen will be up against be home court hero, the World No. 8, Christo Popov.
