The Chicago Cubs are calling up their top prospect Owen Caissie, according to reports.

Chicago's young outfielder is the No. 45-ranked prospect in Major League Baseball's Top 100.

Caissie has been killing it in Triple-A this season, slashing .289/.389/.566 with 22 home runs and 52 RBI.

The 23-year-old Canadian was selected by the San Diego Padres in the second round of the 2020 MLB Draft. Caissie was eventually traded to the Chicago Cubs as part of a deal that sent starting pitcher Yu Darvish to San Diego.

Caissie was given a perfect 60 score in both batting power and arm strength. Now, the youngster will be looking to help a Cubs team that aims to contend for a World Series this season.

The Cubs are currently 27th in the league in batting average (.219) and 29th in OPS for the month of August. So they're looking for Caissie to possibly light a spark as the 2025 regular season starts to near its end.

Chicago are 68-51 on the year, possessing one of the best records in baseball. Unfortunately, they're second to the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Central division, who are the best team in the league and are currently on a 12-game win streak.
