Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez smacked his 100th career home run on Sunday against the Texas Rangers - and made history along the way.

Rodriguez became the first player in Major League Baseball history to hit at least 20 home runs and steal at least 20 bases in each of his first four seasons.

Seattle would go on to defeat the Rangers 5-4

J-Rod is slashing .252/.308/.435 this season with 20 home runs, 59 RBI, and 20 stolen bases. After a slow first month to start the year, Rodriguez was on fire in July, hitting eight home runs and 14 RBI paired with seven stolen bases - all monthly highs this season.

The 24-year-old star of the Mariners hit 20 home runs, 68 RBI, and 24 stolen bases in 2024 - proving that, with 49 games left, Rodriguez has more than enough time this season to top those numbers.

J-Rod signed a 12-year, $209.3 million deal with the Mariners prior to the 2023 season and is now under contract with the team through 2034.

The three-time All-Star and former 2022 Rookie of the Year is just one of many All-Stars on the Mariners roster that includes American League MVP candidate Cal Raleigh, outfielder Randy Arozarena, newly acquired third baseman Eugenio Suarez, and pitchers Bryan Woo and Andres Munoz.

Seattle is currently 60-53, sitting just 2.5 games back of the Houston Astros for first place in the AL West division.
