The Miami Marlins beat the Pittsburgh Pirates on Opening Day thanks to left fielder Kyle Stowers' (27) walk-off hit down the right field line.
The walk-off was also Stowers' first hit of the season as he went 1-3 with a run, hit, RBI, two walks, and two strikeouts in the Marlins 5-4 win.
Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara went 4.2 innings, giving up two runs on two hits with four walks and seven strikeouts.
Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes tossed 5.1 innings, also giving up two runs but on three hits with two walks and seven strikeouts.
Pirates closer Colin Holderman blew the save before David Bednar came in and gave up the walk-off to Stowers.
Marlins hitters tallied five runs on seven hits while the Pirates had four runs on four hits, going 1-9 with runners in scoring position.
