New York Mets power hitter Pete Alonso moved into second place on the franchise's all-time home runs list after hitting his 242nd and 243rd on Sunday against the Colorado Rockies.

Alonso tied Mets legend David Wright with his first homer of the game before leaping him with his second in the top of the eighth inning.

The home run marked his 17th of the year.

The 30-year-old veteran has been on an absolute tear for the Mets after signing a two-year deal worth $54 million in the offseason.

He's currently slashing .302/.397/.994 with 61 RBI in 66 games.

For comparison, Alonso has only finished one season in his now seven-year career with a batting average over .270 - and that was in 2022 when he hit .271.

The former 2019 National League Rookie of the Year will look to make his fourth-straight All-Star team this year (and fifth overall).
