Dallas Mavericks superstar Anthony Davis has undergone surgery to repair a detached retina but is set to be ready to return for training camp, according to ESPN's NBA insider Shams Charania.

Davis picked up the injury in the middle of the season, yet still managed to play through it despite taking several hits to the face.

The 10-time All-Star was involved in the historic trade at the start of February which saw Luka Doncic move to the Los Angeles Lakers. However, Davis made just nine appearances for Dallas after suffering a left adductor strain.

Despite his injury woes, Davis still managed to average numbers of 24.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.2 blocks in 51 games on the Lakers and the Mavs last season.
