The Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the New York Rangers in overtime during Monday's four-game slate despite giving up four straight goals in the third period!

Blue Jackets 5-4 Rangers

Four different players scored a goal each for the Blue Jackets as they got out to a 4-0 lead heading into the third period. That's when the Rangers nearly completed one of the craziest rallies of the season.

Vladislav Gavrikov (10) scored within the first 30 seconds of the period as Gabe Perreault (4) found the net just 24 seconds later, slashing the Blue Jackets' lead in half to 4-2 within a minute.

After 12 minutes went by, Will Borgen (4) made it 4-3 before  Perreault scored his second goal of the game, and fifth of the season, with just under five minutes left to go in the third, forcing overtime.

But it was Columbus' Kirill Marchenko (22) who played hero, scoring his second goal of the game, giving Columbus the win as they improved to 30-21-8, while the Rangers dropped to an Eastern Conference-worst 23-29-8.

Flyers 3-2 Maple Leafs

The Flyers got out to a 2-1 lead after scoring two straight unanswered goals from Christian Dvorak (13) then Noah Cates (12).

But Toronto's William Nylander (20) took advantage of a power play opportunity and tied it up with just under three minutes left to go in regulation.

After a scoreless overtime, the Flyers ended up forcing a fourth-straight loss for the Maple Leafs after Matvei Michkov and Trevor Zegras both scored in the shootout.

Toronto fell to 27-24-10 as they've now lost 10 of their last 13 games. Philly improved 28-21-11, earning their third straight win.

Red Wings 4-2 Predators

It may have been a Pyrrhic victory for the Red Wings after coming back from being down 2-1.

Lucas Raymond (20) would tie it in the second period before Albert Johansson (2) scored a short-handed goal to take the lead.

Alex DeBrincat (31) would send home the empty-netter in the third for extra insurance. However, Detroit goalie John Gibson left the game with an upper-body injury.

The Red Wings improved to 35-20-6, while the Preds dropped to 27-25-8.
