Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Shane Bieber picked up the win in his long-awaited return to the mound on Friday against the Miami Marlins.

Bieber took to the mound for the first time since April 2, 2024, after having to undergo Tommy John surgery on his right elbow.

The 30-year-old went a strong six innings, striking out nine batters while giving up just one run on two hits en route to the Blue Jays' 75th win of the year.

Bieber was acquired from the Cleveland Guardians at the trade deadline back in July - and the former Cy Young award and Triple Crown winner looked like he was back to form in his return to the bump.

Bieber had spent the entire season rehabbing his injury and pitching in Triple-A while he was in Cleveland. Now, the Blue Jays look like they have another capable arm as they make a World Series run out of the American League.

Toronto's 75-54 record is the third best in all of baseball and second in the AL behind the Detroit Tigers (76-53).
