The Cincinnati Reds clinched their 2025 MLB Postseason spot for the first time in five years after the New York Mets fell to the Miami Marlins.

Their postseason berth effectively ends the New York Mets' season. They take the No. 6 seed and will face the (3) Los Angeles Dodgers on September 30th for Game 1.

The Reds finished the season 84-78 - the third time in six years they've finished above 80 wins.

Heading into the final game, Spencer Steer and Elly Da La Cruz were tied for the team-high in home runs with 21. De La Cruz led the team with 85 RBI, 37 stolen bases, 101 runs, 31 doubles, seven triples, and 180 strikeouts.

Galvin Lux (.269) and Austin Hays (.266) led the team in batting average (min. 250 at-bats) prior to Sunday's game.

The Reds had three starting pitchers this season with at least 10 wins for the first time since 2014 - Brady Singer (14), Nick Martinez (11), and Andrew Abbott (10).

Abbott posted the team's best earned run average (2.88) with a minimum of 20 starts, which is just one over what rookie starting pitcher sensation Hunter Greene had (19) - he finished the year with a 2.87 ERA.

Singer led the team in strikeouts (158), with Abbott falling just short of him with 156.

Their +37 run differential before Sunday's game was the lowest among every team that clinched a MLB Postseason berth - except the Guardians (-7).
