After securing victory over Luke Littler in Nottingham during the sixth night of the Premier League, a resurgent Gerwyn Price has expressed his admiration for the young talent, suggesting Littler is rapidly approaching an unparalleled level of play.

Price's 6-3 triumph in the final on Thursday night earned him his second Premier League win of the season, elevating him to third place in the standings with 12 points, sitting just behind Littler and Luke Humphries.

But the in-form Welshman - who has built up a good record against The Nuke - conveyed his belief that Littler possesses untapped potential, implying that once fully realised, Littler could pose an insurmountable challenge to even the most established figures in the sport.

"I wanted to get another win over Luke just to keep on top - he's one of the best in the world and he's going to be for the next few years," Price told Sky Sports.

"He's going to get better and better.

"I praise him every single day. I think he'll beat Phil Taylor's records and there is no one in the PDC that will stop him.

"Only the younger generations can stop him, we can't stop him. He's going to get better and better."

Price added that he feels grateful to Littler for his impact on the sport and that he deserves all the plaudits he has been receiving: "Littler has done wonders for the sport.

"We all need to start winning now because in the next few years he is going to be unbeatable.

"He's taken the sport to new levels and he deserves everything he gets."
