Michael van Gerwen will not participate in night 9 of the Premier League Darts. The three-time World Champion cancelled his participation in Berlin at short notice due to a shoulder injury.

Van Gerwen's quarter-final opponent Gerwyn Price gets a bye into the semi-finals and is therefore guaranteed two points in the battle for the play-offs. 'Mighty Mike', who won the Premier League seven times between 2013 and 2023, will remain on 13 points and be overtaken by Price.

The Dutchman has reached the final once this year, but lost it to Luke Littler in week 7. The young Englishman leads the table with four wins on the day and a total of 26 points, ahead of Luke Humphries (18 points). Behind van Gerwen (13) and Price (12) come Rob Cross (12), Nathan Aspinall (10), Chris Dobey (5) and Stephen Bunting (0).

Van Gerwen and the Premier League of Darts will travel to Manchester next week before returning to Rotterdam in Van Gerwen's native Netherlands on April 17th.
