After booking tis ticket to the final of the Challenger tournament in Girona, Elmer Moller will Sunday meet the former Grand Slam winner, Marin Cilic in the final

Since his Davis Cup triumph two months ago, Elmer Moller has struggled to find his game on the tennis courts. But this week has been fantastic for the 21-year-old Danish tennis player, who hasn't dropped a set on his way to the final.

On Saturday, he won 6-2, 6-1 over fifth-seeded Serbian Dusan Lajovic and advanced to the final of the Challenger tournament in Girona, Spain.

In the final, Moller is set to face the former Grand Slanm winner Marin Cilic.

The 36-year-old Cilic has had an impressive run, defeating Carlos Taberner (6-4, 6-3), Marton Fucsovics (6-7, 7-6, 6-2), Pablo Carreño Busta (6-2, 6-4), and Jesper De Jong in Saturday’s semifinals (6-4, 6-4). He will re-enter the top 130 next Monday.

The 36-year-old Croat has won 21 titles on the ATP Tour and was ranked as high as number three in the world back in 2018.

In recent years, Cilic has slipped down the world rankings and is currently number 143 on the list.

Elmer Moller, who was at his peak at number 149 in the world earlier this year, is currently number 156.
