A 99th-minute penalty won the dramatic game for the hosts, who earned three precious points to jump up to 12th and move seven points away from danger. Those could prove vital as the season wears on.

22:44 CET - AC Milan have beaten Inter 1-0 for the second time this season! Pervis Estupinan’s first-half thunderbolt was the difference in the end as Massimiliano Allegri’s side took the bragging rights in the derby.
Inter have thus had their lead at the top of the Serie A standings cut down to seven points, while Milan have some breathing space in second, four points clear of Napoli. Is there time for a title race to emerge? Well, there's still 10 rounds to go in Italy!

21:37 CET - It’s half-time at the San Siro, and Milan lead Inter 1-0 thanks to Estupinan’s strike. Over in France, it’s goalless between Lyon and Paris FC at the break. And down in Spain, Valencia are trailing Alaves 1-0 after 35 minutes.
21:25 CET - Milan have the lead in the derby! Pervis Estupinan has absolutely blasted the ball into the net after receiving a well-weighted ball from Youssouf Fofana. It's the Ecuadorian's frst goal for the club, too. What a time for it!
21:10 CET - Benfica’s unbeaten run in Liga Portugal continues! Jose Mourinho’s side have come back to draw 2-2 at home in Lisbon against league leaders FC Porto, after trailing 2-0 at the break. Leandro Barreiro scored an 89th-minute equaliser for the hosts, who then saw both Mourinho and Nicolas Otamendi sent off in a feisty finish.
Francesco Farioli’s team are now just four points clear of Sporting in second, with Benfica seven points off the top in third. With nine rounds still to play, could there be a twist in this tale? Porto have only been beaten once, as have Sporting, though. And you know Mourinho will fancy taking this race down to the wire.
19:55 CET - Genoa have pulled clear of the relegation zone with an impressive 2-1 win against Champions League-chasing Roma, who have missed the chance to move into the top four with the loss.
Up next in Italy is the big one: The Derby della Madonnina between fierce rivals AC Milan and Inter. The latter are already 10 points clear at the Serie A summit ahead of Milan, and a victory today would surely wrap up the title.
19:13 CET - The afternoon games in Ligue 1 have come to an end, with Lille conceding in the last minute to draw 1-1 with Lorient, while Rennes thrashed Nice 4-0 for a fourth-straight win to move into fifth.
Lyon are in action later tonight when they host Paris FC, looking to return to winning ways after three games without a win.
18:13 CET - Real Betis have fallen to their first defeat since January in LaLiga at the hands of Getafe. First-half goals from Kiko Femenia and Martin Satriano led the Madrid side to a 2-0 win, lifting them into the top half of the table.
Betis' city rivals, Sevilla, are up next in Spain, as they take on Rayo Vallecano, with both sides looking to move further clear of danger in LaLiga.
17:45 CET - Roma are having a great season under new coach Gian Piero Gasperini this season, currently in a Champions League spot for next season, with two defeats in their last 10. Today, at 18:00 CET, they take on Genoa, a team still looking over their shoulder at the relegation zone.

17:28 CET - St Pauli's good form has continued today, thanks to a valiant 0-0 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt, who are chasing the top six in the Bundesliga.
They are now two points clear of the relegation places with nine games to go.
Werder Bremen can leapfrog St Pauli as they travel to the capital to play Union Berlin from 17:30 CET.
17:10 CET - Plenty more Ligue 1 action this afternoon, with Lille in action against mid-table Lorient in what is a derby of sorts in Northern France.

16:57 CET - All over in our mid-afternoon games, and Lens have capitalised on PSG's Friday slip-up to move a point behind the Ligue 1 leaders after a comfortable 3-0 victory over Metz.
Saul Abdulhamid got the scoring going in the first half, before Florian Thauvin and Amadou Haidara joined the party after the break to settle the game.
In Serie A, Fiorentina remain just outside the relegation zone after a goalless draw with Parma, whilst Verona have earned a vital victory in their quest for safety, coming back from a goal down to beat Bologna away from home 2-1.
16:45 CET - Bragging rights and a spot in the Scottish Cup semi-finals for Celtic. They have taken down bitter rivals Rangers on penalties after the game finished 0-0.
Tomas Cvancara netted the winning spot-kick after James Tavernier and Djeidi Gassama both missed for Rangers.

16:33 CET - Two Premier League teams out already today in the FA Cup, can Norwich City make it three upsets from three as they take on Leeds United from 17:30 CET.
The Canaries have gone strong with just one change in goal from their last game - a 2-0 win over Leicester. For Leeds, they have rotated, with only two starters surviving from their last game against Sunderland.
This has the smell of another cup shock!
16:26 CET - Port Vale have done it! The bottom side of League One have beaten Premier League Sunderland 1-0 in the FA Cup to reach the quarter-finals. It wasn't pretty, but the home fans won't care as they continue their dream run.
Ben Waine will be the man to go down in Vale folklore, as he netted the winner from a corner in the 28th minute.
It's their first foray into the last eight since 1954, what a run!
15:54 CET - Villarreal have kept up their push for Champions League football next season with a relatively comfortable 2-1 win over Elche in LaLiga.
Both of the Yellow Submarine's goals came in the first half, with Tajon Buchanan and Santiago Mourino getting on the scoresheet.
Andre Silva did get one back late on, but the hosts held on for all three points to make it 11 without a win for the visitors.
They are now 11 points ahead of Betis in fifth spot, and they are up next in Spain, as they take on Getafe on the road.
15:05 CET - Championship side Southampton have stunned Fulham with a 1-0 victory in the FA Cup, courtesy of a stoppage-time penalty from Ross Stewart.
The side chasing promotion to the Premier League continue their run in the competition, while Fulham will now focus on a possible spot in Europe.
In the other game currently taking place, League One Port Vale are leading Sunderland 1-0, which will be followed by Leeds vs Norwich at 17:30 CET.
14:30 CET - After PSG's defeat on Friday night, Lens have the chance to narrow the gap at the top of Ligue 1 down to just a single point, when they take on Metz in half an hour. A big opportunity awaits.
There are also two Serie A games to look forward to, as Fiorentina continue their relegation battle and Bologna aim to close the gap on the European spots.
13:20 CET - For the second weekend in a row, the Old Firm derby sees Rangers and Celtic go head to head - this time in the Scottish Cup at 14:00 CET. Bragging rights as well as a place in the semi-finals are at stake, and as usual, it is going to be a fiery affair.
At the same time, Villarreal are in LaLiga action against Elche, while Sunderland visit Port Vale in the FA Cup at 14:30 CET. There is a distinct possibility that we could see eight Premier League teams reach the FA Cup quarter-finals this year.
12:20 CET - The first game of the day comes in the FA Cup between Fulham and Southampton at 13:00 CET, with both teams having a great opportunity to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.
The home side make nine changes but still look strong, while the Saints go full strength for this last-16 clash.

23:27 CET - One final update from us tonight, as we sign off ahead of Sunday's action, where Lionel Messi has scored in the first half of Inter Miami's game against DC United in MLS, with the Argentinian's side leading at the break 2-0.
Messi's compatriot, Rodrigo De Paul, scored the opener before Messi put them in control of the clash.

23:00 CET - Our final game of the European day has ended, where Marseille have laboured to a 1-0 win away at Toulouse.
With fewer shots and a lower xG, the visitors struggled to make an impact, but Mason Greenwood was their match-winner, scoring from close range in the first half.

22:52 CET - Back to the FA Cup, where Manchester City weathered an early storm against Newcastle United to progress into the quarter-finals with a 3-1 victory.
Omar Marmoush netted twice in the win, the pick of the bunch a crushing effort that found the top corner from the edge of the area.
In LaLiga, Barcelona have edged Athletic Club 1-0 in Bilbao. Lamine Yamal, once again, was the hero for the Catalans, scoring his 14th goal of the league campaign midway through the second half to see his side home. After 27 games, they lead Real Madrid by four points in the table.

22:36 CET - All over in Turin, where Juventus have ended a barren Serie A run with a comfortable 4-0 victory over struggling Pisa.
It was four games without a win for the 'Old Lady', but they fared better against the league's bottom side, scoring all of their goals in the second half through Andrea Cambiaso, Khephren Thuram, Kenan Yildiz and Jeremie Boga.
The victory keeps them in the hunt for Champions League football next season.
22:00 CET - Away from Europe, after their trip to meet Donald Trump in midweek, Inter Miami are back on the pitch tonight from 22:30 CET as they face DC United in Baltimore, where the crowds have been massive.
Lionel Messi does start for the visitors, who have three points after their opening two games of the season.
21:27 CET - Chelsea are through to the FA Cup quarter-finals, but Wrexham have given them one massive scare.
The Championship side have gone toe-to-toe with the Club World Cup champions, taking them to extra time after it finished 2-2 in 90 minutes, with the Welsh team going ahead twice before being pegged back.
Their task was made even harder after George Dobson was given his marching orders for a high tackle on Alejandro Garnacho. The Argentine then got back on his feet to net in the 96th minute in what was a thrilling encounter.
Wrexham, despite the man disadvantage, thought they had a late leveller as Lewis Brunt nodded in a corner at the back post, only for VAR to rule it out for offside.
The Blues rode their luck, but they are in the hat on Monday after Joao Pedro slotted home to make it 4-2 in the dying seconds of this pulsating cup tie. Wrexham will now hope they can keep their play-off push up in the second tier.
21:09 CET - As Chelsea lead 3-2 in extra time against Wrexham with 15 minutes left to play, Manchester City and Newcastle United are in the early going of their FA Cup tie.
After his star turn against Manchester United in midweek, William Osula gets the nod up front for the Magpies, whilst Erling Haaland is still missing from the Manchester City squad.
