It's one of the biggest nights of the season, with the Merseyside derby among six Premier League matches, AC Milan and Inter contesting the first leg of their cup semi-final, and Atletico Madrid hosting Barcelona in the second leg of theirs.

23:28 CET - Barcelona have battled to snatch a 1-0 win at Atletico Madrid, clinching a 5-4 win on aggregate and setting up a thrilling Copa del Rey final with Real Madrid.

It is heartbreak for Atletico though, who are now looking likely to end the season trophyless.

23:00 CET - A Diogo Jota goal proved to be the difference as Liverpool edged out their Merseyside rivals Everton 1-0 to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to 12 points.

22:53 CET - AC Milan and Inter Milan have played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final, while Reims have sealed a 2-1 win at Cannes to set up a Coupe de France final with PSG.

22:45 CET - In the Premier League, Aston Villa and Newcastle both claimed wins in the Premier League to continue their charge for a Champions League spot. Meanwhile, Ipswich stunned Bournemouth 2-1, while Southampton drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace.

22:42 CET - Stuttgart have sealed a superb 3-1 win agaisst Leipzig to move into the DFP Pokal final, and will face surprise packages Arminia Bielefeld in the final.

22:36 CET - Manchester City have eased to a comfortable 2-0 win over Leicester as they continue their quest for a spot in the Champions League. Leicester, however, are doomed, and relegation is surely imminent.

22:27 CET - Sticking with the Turkish theme, midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has scored for Inter Milan to make it 1-1 against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-final.

22:25 CET - Galatasaray have beaten Fenerbahce in the quarter-finals of the Turkish Cup 2-1 courtesy of a Victor Osimhen brace. Jose Mourinho then proceeded to lose the plot after the game, pulling the nose of Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk. He has now lost twice at home to their arch-rivals Galatasaray this season, and doesn't have a single win over any of his Istanbul rivals.

22:21 CET - Villa have doubled their lead at Brighton with the in-form Marco Asensio scoring again. Stuttgart have also gone 3-1 up against Leipzig to take a major step towards the DFP Pokal final.

22:18 CET  - Diogo Jota has put Liverpool up against Merseyside rivals Everton as they take another step towards the Premier League title.

22:09 CET - Benjamin Sesko has pulled a goal back for Leipzig against Stuttgart to make it 2-1.

22:07 CET - Barcelona have gone a goal up at Atletico Madrid courtesy of Ferran Torres, meaning they are leading 5-4 on aggregate.

Meanwhile, Tammy Abraham has put AC Milan up against arch-rivals Inter, while Cannes have levelled their Coupe de France semi-final with Reims.

22:02 CET - Exciting young striker Liam Delap has doubled Ipswich's lead to stun Bournemouth once more! What is going on at the Vitality? Still thinking about their FA Cup exit?

21:57 CET - Two goals early in the second half at the Amex! Marcus Rashford briefly gave Aston Villa the lead for his first Premier League goal on loan before Brighton equalised through Simon Adingra just three minutes later.

Brighton's equaliser has since been ruled out by VAR so 1-0 it remains!

21:50 CET - Beto has had a goal ruled out for offside and hit the post as Everton have had the best of the action in the Merseyside derby. However, it remains 0-0 at the break and Arne Slot will be relieved it is.

Follow the second period here.

21:47 CET - The half-time whistle has blown in the Milan derby and it has been a bit cagey so far. As a lot of the action tonight, that one remains 0-0 at the break.
