A two-under par second round of 70 had kept the world number six in contention at the halfway mark, but a score of +1 turned into +6 after a poor third round yesterday, which included six bogeys and a double bogey.
That had all but ended the US Open winner's chances of mixing with the title challengers, and hopes of a miracle comeback faded with one bogey and eight pars on the front nine in her final round.
The tough week was compounded by two bogeys and a double bogey in her next four holes, before Stark bogeyed the 18th to finish on +6 for the round and +12 for the championship.
The 25-year-old was forced to use a wedge instead of a putter on the greens on the back nine - it transpired that she had broken her putter when throwing it in frustration at her performance.
With some players yet to finish, Stark is currently tied for 48th place in the Women's PGA Championship.
