Edmonton Oilers star Leon Draisaitl stays red-hot as the Oilers bounce back after losing two straight while the Carolina Hurricanes extend their win streak to a league-best six games.

After scoring both goals for the Oilers in their 2-1 overtime win over the Islanders, Leon Draisaitl (49) has now extended his point streak to a stellar 17 games.

Bo Horvat (21) tied it up for the Isles in the third period to send it to overtime but it wasn't enough as New York drops their third straight. They are just now three points away from holding the bottom spot in the Metropolitan Division.

With the win, the Oilers are now six points behind the Vegas Golden Knights for the top spot in the Pacific Division.

Hurricanes 4-2 Red Wings

The Hurricanes continue to rage on thanks to three straight goals in the second period from Taylor Hall (11), Jack Roslovic (21), and Jalen Chatfield (6).

Despite Michael Rasmussen (10) closing the gap to 3-2 for the Red Wings, an empty netter from Eric Robinson (13) ended any hopes of a comeback.

Detroit's woes continue closer to playoff time as they have now lost seven of their last 10 games. And with the Knights, Capitals, Knights (again), and Ottawa Senators coming up in four of their next five games, it doesn't look like the window might open for them any time soon.

Jets 4-1 Stars

The Jets earned a great division win over a Dallas Stars team with the third-best record in the league all thanks to a pair of goals from Kyle Connor (35).

Winnipeg scored four straight goals before Mason Marchment (16) put up the lone goal for Dallas at the end of the game, now having lost two of their last three games.

The two teams will meet again on April 10th for the final game of the seasonal series.

Avalanche 4-2 Flames

Parker Kelly (7) scored a pair of goals as the Avs are back in the win column, sneaking up behind the Stars in the Central Division.

Even though they lost, the Flames maintain the second wild card spot with 71 points. But a four-game road skid for next week could prove to be difficult.
