Erin go bragh! The National Hockey League (NHL) had a small five-game slate on Monday for St. Patrick's Day as the Maple Leafs got the win over the Calgary Flames in their tribute uniforms to the holiday while the Devils held off the Blue Jackets thanks to goaltender Jake Allen's whopping 45 saves.

Maple Leafs star Auston Matthews (26) scored twice in back-to-back power plays during the second period in which Toronto scored four straight goals to go up 5-1 entering the third period.

Bobby McMann (18) scored the team's fifth straight goal of the game to start the third period making it completely out of reach for the Flames

Toronto completed the series sweep (2-0) with their 6-2 win over the Flames who are now riding a three-game losing streak and are three points out of a Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.

Devils 2-1 Blue Jackets

Timo Meier and Jesper Bratt both scoring their 20th goal of the season was all that was needed to get the win over Columbus.

But it all comes in thanks to Allen's effort in net with 45 saves - a season-high and the most he's had in a regular season game since November 27, 2021 against the Pittsburgh Penguins

The Devils have now won four of their last five games while the Blue Jackets have now dropped four straight and six of their last seven.

Sabres 3-2 Bruins

A battle between the Atlantic Division's bottom-two teams ended up going to the Sabres thanks to an Alex Tuch (26) power-play goal with just 11 seconds remaining in overtime.

Boston has now lost three straight and four of their last games while Buffalo hits back-to-back wins and have taken home three of their last four.

Despite the win, Buffalo is still at the bottom of the Eastern Conference trying to play spoiler for any fringe teams looking for a Wild Card spot.

Lighting 2-0 Flyers

Andrei Vasilevskiy earned his 39th career shutout after a 21-save night to lift the Tampa Bay Lightning to a revenge win over the Flyers after losing to them on March 13th.

The loss now makes it back-to-back shutouts for the Flyers. Between January 29 to February 2nd, Philly lost three straight and was shut out in each of those games.

They'll look not to repeat the same when they take on the Washington Capitals on March 20th.

Wild 3-1 Kings

In the final game of the night, the Minnesota Wild ended the Kings' five-game win streak.

After Adrian Kempe (28) got the Kings on the board with a power play goal, the Wild responded with three of their own from Ryan Hartman (9), Mats Zuccarello (16), and the empty-netter from Marcus Johansson (7).

The Wild still have a commanding lead in the top Wild Card spot as both teams hit 81 points on the season.
