With two rounds down in the 2025/26 Swedish Hockey League (SHL), only three teams still have a perfect record, including Playoff champions Lulea, who inflicted a second loss of the season on last season's beaten finalists Brynas.

Having strolled past Malmo on opening night, Lulea set themselves up perfectly for a trip to Gavle to face Brynas, who they beat 4-2 in last season's Finals series to be crowned champions.

Brynas looked set for revenge as two Jakob Silfverberg goals put them 2-0 up early in the second period, before two goals in less than a minute from Anton Rodin and Johannes Kinnvall extended the lead to four.

However, goals from Brian O'Neill, Erik Gustafsson and Jakob Ihs Wozniak in less than 90 seconds midway through the match got Lulea right back in it, before O'Neill added his second late in period two to level the scores.

Isac Hedqvist completed a remarkable turnaround early in the third, and though Axel Andersson tied things up at 5-5 soon after, a hat-trick goal from O'Neill and an empty-netter from Gustafsson saw the champions inflict a 7-5 defeat on last season's Regular Season winners.

Vaxjo have also begun the season with back-to-back wins after they saw off HV 71 5-3 at home, inflicting a second defeat on last season's strugglers. The third and final side with six points so far are Leksand, after they were successful on home ice against Orebro, 4-2.

Farjestad lost out in overtime on opening night, but they are now the sole team on four points after they triumphed 6-2 against Malmo. The Redhawks sit bottom of the early standings having also been well beaten by Lulea.

Skelleftea and Timra both lost in round one but have got off the mark, both by winning 5-2 against Rogle and Linkoping, respectively. Linkoping join Malmo, Brynas and HV 71 as the fourth team yet to get off the mark. Djurgarden and Frolunda did not take to the ice this midweek.
