After three successive defeats against difficult opponents it was important to get back to winning ways and ligtht a fire amongst the spectators said Alexander True after Denmark 5-1 win against Kazakhstan.

True scored two goals on the night and helped Denmark preserve their chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals after they started the tournament off with three successive defeat against the USA, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. True said it was crucial for the team to taste victory again before the vital encounter against Norway and identified the first twenty minutes as decisive for Denmarks win.

"I think it was very important for the game that we killed off the three penalties wihout allowing them to take a one- or two goal lead which would have forced us to chase them after some very difficult games. It was great that we scored first and forced them to chase us", said True.

According to True, Mikael Gath's team have rehearsed play in their own zone and playing with more pace during their days off in addition to having discussed the importance of cooling down after the three opening defeats.

"We have talked about not panicking, we've had three tough opponents. Of course, we would have liked to have points, but we have also met some good teams and we still have a good chance of making it to the playoffs", said True who is looking forward to writing another chapter in the Scandinavian rivalry with Norway.

"It think its going to be a tough match with lots of duels between players everywhere on the ice. They will really be up for trying to beat us on our home ice but of course we have a huge advantage in Boxen. Those matches are always fun to play and I look forward to it", said True.

Denmark will face Norway on Friday evening.
