Carolina Hurricanes forward Jordan Staal scored his 300th and 301st career goals on Saturday against the Los Angeles Kings.

His first goal came within just 12 seconds of the puck dropping to start the game, with an assist from William Carrier (1).

Staal's second of the game, and third on the year, also came during the first period to put the Canes up 2-0.

Teammates Jalen Chatfield (2) and Mike Reilly (2) both racked up their second assists of the year.

The 37-year-old Staal has spent the last 14 of his 20 years in the NHL as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes. In that time, Staal has recorded eight 20+ goal seasons, now totaling 180 for his career in Carolina.

Staal was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins with the second overall pick in the 2006 NHL Draft. He debuted with the team that same year at 18 years old and went on to be named to the 2006-2007 All-Rookie Team after posting a career-high 29 goals with 13 assists in 81 games.

He would spend the next five seasons in Pittsburgh, ultimately winning a Stanley Cup with them during the 2008-2009 season.

Now, he's trying to help the Hurricanes lift one.
