The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired relief pitcher Brock Stewart from the Minnesota Twins in a trade on Thursday.

In return, Minnesota received outfielder James Outman

Stewart is tossing a solid 2.38 earned run average in 39 games this season, giving up just nine runs on 26 hits in 34 innings with 41 strikeouts and 11 walks.

Opponents are hitting .210 off the 31-year-old this season, a big improvement for Stewart compared to 2024 (.254). 

Stewart is currently under a one-year contract and will enter his second arbitration year for 2026 and third in 2027. The former Dodgers pitcher is heading back to where he spent the first three seasons of his career. 

Outman has only played in a handful of MLB games this season, but was slashing .289/.378/.592 with 20 home runs, 74 RBI, and 14 stolen bases in 70 games in Triple-A this year.
