Big splashes

The Philadelphia Phillies signed back their All-Star power hitter Kyle Schwarber to a five-year, $150 million contract.

Schwarber was second in the entire league with 56 home runs and led all hitters with 132 RBI.

The Los Angeles Dodgers also signed All-Star closer Edwin Diaz to a record-setting three-year, $69 million deal, locking up one of the game's best closers.

Diaz's annual average value of $23 million is the most for a closer in MLB history.

The New York Mets signed relief pitcher Devin Williams to a three-year, $51 million contract.

He becomes the third big pitcher signing of the offseason after the Toronto Blue Jays signed Dylan Cease to a seven-year, $210 million deal and closer Ryan Helsley went to the Baltimore Orioles on a two-year, $28 million deal.

Williams' deal has no opt-outs or options and includes an additional $6 million bonus ($45 million base).

The Seattle Mariners made the first big splash of the offseason after bringing back their star first baseman Josh Naylor on a five-year, $92.5 million deal.

Naylor's contract is the largest deal in Jerry Dipoto's run as President of Baseball Operations for the Mariners.

He finished last season with a .295/.353/.462 slashline, 20 home runs, 92 RBI, and a career-high 30 stolen bases.
