Our NFL experts give their picks for Week 7's Thursday night primetime showdown in an AFC North battle between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals!

The Thursday Night schedule is finally back in the AFC after three straight weeks of fantastic NFC matchups - and this time between two physical AFC North teams that won't hesitate to hit each other a little harder than others.

Pittsburgh are 4.5-point favourites heading into Cincinnati for their first divisional clash of the season, with the over-under set at 44.5.

This time around, we'll show you our experts' picks first, before breaking down the game and its injury reports.

Experts Picks

Paul: Steelers 27-17 Bengals

Cincinnati didn’t show much improvement under Joe Flacco whatsoever, while the Steelers manhandled the Browns under similar circumstances.

It’s the AFC North. It’s gritty football. Anything can happen, but a lot of said 'anything' would need to happen for the Bengals to suddenly change their fortune against the 4-1 Steelers.

Give me Jack Sawyer’s Steelers!

Miguel: Steelers 19-13 Bengals

The Steelers are starting to find their best form under Aaron Rodgers and are a very tough team, as always.

It’s hard to imagine a Bengals team without Joe Burrow getting a win against Pittsburgh, so the outcome seems pretty clear to me here. Nothing else needs to be said.

Henri: Steelers 27-24 Bengals

The Bengals performed semi-decent with Joe Flacco in the veteran's debut for the team.

Pittsburgh, on the other hand, is currently in perfect flow with Aaron Rodgers and definitely does not want to serve as a rebuilding opponent.

I see this being a close game, but in the end, the Steelers will win it in a close but entertaining match.

Eric: Bengals 23-20 Steelers

In the past two weeks, our staff have all favoured one specific team for Thursday night football and we've lost. If there's any unpredictable matchup, it's an AFC North battle under the bright lights.

The Bengals were keeping up with the Packers last week on the offensive front, they just couldn't get a stop. Now, they're up against one of the worst offences, and defences, in football after coming off back-to-back weeks against two top-scoring offences.

Pittsburgh's wins come off their ability to force turnovers, not through any other means. If Flacco and company hold on to the ball, they have a shot. I've watched enough AFC North football in my life to know a win never comes easy between these two teams.

Any given Sunday - I'm taking the Bengals in this 'Icy Hot Bowl' between the NFL's oldest quarterbacks.

Game Breakdown

The Bengals are coming off a 27-18 loss to the Green Bay Packers, while the Steelers are coming off a 23-9 divisional win against the Cleveland Browns.

Cinci (2-4) hasn't won a game since starting quarterback Joe Burrow went down with a significant turf toe injury, having been outscored a whopping 140-55 in those four games.

They traded for quarterback Joe Flacco and gave him less than a week to prepare for their game against one of the best in the NFL. Yet, he did surprisingly well, all things considered.

Completing 29-of-45 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns isn't magnificent, but the Bengals were within one score against the Packers most of the game, especially after Flacco completed a back-shoulder touchdown to Ja'Marr Chase to cut the lead 24-18 late in the fourth quarter with over four minutes left.

However, their defence couldn't hold on.

Their defence ranks second-to-last, just ahead of the Dallas Cowboys, having allowed an average of 394.2 yards per game and 30.5 points per game.

But, Flacco has more time to go up against a familiar foe in the Steelers with a little more time to adjust to the Bengals system.

Pittsburgh is shocking everyone right now with their 4-1 record. They have a bottom-five offence and a bottom-10 defence. Yet, they're still finding ways to win. But how?

Well, the answer is simple. They've forced the third-most turnovers (10), have committed only four turnovers (4th), and have forced the second-most sacks (20).

Last week's win over the Browns was the first time this season that the Steelers had actually out-gained their opponents and won by more than one score.

All of their previous wins were decided by a combined 10 points.

They have no definitive ground game on offence either. The league currently has eight running backs who have more rushing yards alone than the entire Steelers team does this season.

And their leading receiver, D.K. Metcalf, just barely cracks the top-20 in receiving yards (356). Yet, the veteran presence in Pittsburgh has paid dividends and they simply find ways to win games.

Injury reports

Pittsburgh will be without wide receiver Calvin Austin III for the second straight week with a shoulder injury. Safety DeShon Elliott is questionable for the game after be a non-participant in practice all week for personal reasons.

Linebacker Malik Harrison, who hasn't played since Week 1 against the New York Jets, is questionable after being a limited participant in practice all week.

As for the Bengals, they'll be without tight ends Mike Gesicki (pectoral) and Tanner Hudson (concussion).

Wide receiver Charlie Jones (ribs) and defensive end Trey Hendrickson (hip) are both questionable after not practicing this week.

Meanwhile, right guard Lucas Patrick, who is coming off the injured reserve from a calf injury, is also questionable despite being a full participant in practice.
