The report states that the team and the NFL have been in talks about the situation over the past week. Former owner Paul Allen's estate currently owns the Seahawks, along with the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers.
When the team officially becomes listed for sale, it'll be the first time a team has ever done so in the Super Bowl era after actually playing in the Super Bowl.
However, an Allen estate spokesperson commented on the report.
“We don’t comment on rumors or speculation, and the team is not for sale. We’ve already said that will change at some point per Paul’s wishes, but I have no news to share. Our focus right now is winning the Super Bowl and completing the sale of the Portland Trail Blazers in the coming months. “
