After a resounding victory on matchday one, Senegal picked up where they left off here, firing in nine shots on the DR Congo goal before half-time.
Poor finishing proved their undoing, with Sadio Mane coming closest with a free-kick that wrong-footed goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi, but drifted just wide of the far post.
Moments later, Pape Gueye took aim from range, and this time Mpasi was equal to the effort, pushing it around the post out of harm's way. Aaron Wan-Bissaka did put the ball in the back of the net for DR Congo, but the celebrations were cut short, with the goal ruled out for offside.
Given the goalmouth action from the first half, it was no surprise that the deadlock was broken early in the second.
The only shock was that it arrived for the Leopards, with Cedric Bakambu on hand to tap home a loose ball following a sloppy save from Edouard Mendy between the sticks. Their lead only lasted eight minutes, though, as Senegal hit back immediately, with Mane opening his account for the tournament with a simple tap-in from close range.
After restoring parity, it was Senegal who looked the most likely to find a winner, but both sides slipped into a little bit of a lull, meaning the spoils were shared. A 10th successive H2H without defeat keeps Senegal top of the group, only ahead of DR Congo on goal difference, ahead of the all-important matchday three.
