Malmo have followed on from their midweek UEFA Champions League success by putting pressure on their fellow Allsvenskan title challengers, winning 3-2 away at Brommapojkarna. Also on Saturday, the league's form side, GAIS, beat Halmstad, while Degerfors and Norrkoping could not be separated.

With work being done on their Grimsta IP ground, Brommapojkarna hosted Malmo in the unfamiliar surroundings of the 3Arena in Stockholm.

But they could not blame a lack of genuine home advantage for falling behind after 15 minutes, instead, luck was against them as Hugo Bolin's shot took a huge deflection and looped over Leo Cavallius and in.

BP responded well to the setback, and were level midway through the half when Victor Lind tried his luck with a free-kick from a tight angle, yet their was nothing lucky about his effort, as the ball sailed into the back of the net.

10 minutes after the break, Lind was at it again with another sweet strike - Daleho Irandust picked him out at the edge of the box, and the ball flew off his right foot giving Robin Olsen no chance.

The home side's lead lasted just 11 minutes - the ball fell kindly to Otto Rosengren, and his shot went through a crowded penalty area and through the arms of Cavallius, who should have done better.

Six minutes later, MFF retook the lead and, again, they needed a stroke of fortune. Sead Haksabanovic fired the ball low across the edge of the six yard box, and the outstreched leg of Eric Bjorkander turned it into his own net for 3-2.

A fifth successive win in all competitions has taken Malmo to third place in the standings for the time being at least. After three wins in a row, it's back-to-back losses for the Bromma Boys, who sit ___.

As good as Malmo's form is, no one in the Allsvenskan can match the run GAIS are on; the Gothenburg side are now 10 matches unbeaten after a 3-0 home win over Halmstad.

The Mackerels started as they meant to go on - after the first wave of an attack was thwarted, possession was recycled by Gustav Lundgren, who set up Kevin Holmen to curl the ball into the top corner from 20 yards, just seven minutes in.

With nine minutes of the half remaining, Lundgren turned from provider to finisher, popping up at the back post to meet Matteo de Brienne's cross with a side-foot volley.

The points were sealed 20 minutes into the second half, when Rasmus Niklasson sent a dangerous low cross into the six yard box, and Ibrahim Diabate was perfectly placed to tap in.

GAIS now sit fifth, nine points off leaders Mjallby and only two behind Malmo and the European places. Halmstad are four points clear of the relegation zone and without a win in three.

Finally on Saturday, Degerfors finally ended their woeful seven-match losing run by securing a 0-0 draw at home to Norrkoping

In fact, it's the first time the Allsvenskan new boys have picked up points since a 2-1 away win over the same opponents on 15th May.

It was Norrkoping who were holding out for a precious point, however, as Degerfors led the shot count by 21 to five, while the visitors mustered one effort on goal to Degerfors' four.

But no way through for either side sees the Bruket climb out of the bottom three to 13th on 14 points, five behind Norrkoping, who stay 11th.

All 16 teams are in action this weekend - four matches take place tomorrow, with one on Monday evening, and you can follow all the action from the Allsvenskan on Flashscore.
