The clash between Benfica and Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League playoffs continues to make headlines.
On Thursday, Flashscore were told that Benfica had filed a report with UEFA against Fede Valverde, the Real Madrid captain.
The incident in question happened in the 82nd minute, near the sideline, when the Uruguayan midfielder appeared to punch Samuel Dahl.
From Benfica's perspective, Valverde should have been shown a red card for the incident, which was not reviewed by VAR.
It should be noted that Real Madrid won the match 0-1, with a goal from Vinicius Junior.
The match was marred by alleged racist insults from Gianluca Prestianni directed towards the Brazilian international.
The two teams will meet again on February 25th at the Santiago Bernabeu, where a place in the Champions League round of 16 will be at stake.
