Christian Eriksen, who previously played under Frank at Brentford and also has a past at Tottenham, puts the Danish coach's situation at Spurs into perspective.
Is he surprised to see Frank's struggles? "Yes and no," he says. "I mean, the pressure is bigger. Of course, Brentford for a long time was a safe place."
According to Eriksen, the situation is now completely different for Frank, who has come to a club with higher expectations and more attention.
"Now he is in a new place with new eyes, and people want something different. I hope he gets the time to change things and show what he can do. But I know football moves quickly and there are a lot of new ideas this week and then next week it will be another idea."
The Danish coach is under increasing pressure to keep his job and the Spurs hierarchy are believed to be looking at alternative options after board-level talks following the defeat at home to West Ham on Saturday.
Faced with a Dortmund side who have scored in all of their 14 away games this season, Frank has certainly got his back to the wall as he takes charge of what could be his last Tottenham match on Tuesday.
