PSV exit the UEFA Champions League with a sense of pride after holding Arsenal to a 2-2 draw during the away leg in London.

The reigning Dutch Eredivisie champions lost the home leg 7-1 to Arsenal - the biggest loss for any Dutch club in Champions League history.

Knowing the odds were not in their favour, manager Peter Bosz decided to rotate his squad for the return leg at the Emirates Stadium. With a couple of reserves getting playing time in London, PSV snatched a 2-2 draw - one which lets the Eindhoven side leave the competition with their heads held high.

"When you come here, you know it's difficult," captain Luuk de Jong told Dutch TV after the game. "2-2 is just a good result then.

"It was no longer about the result, but about showing yourself. We played organised and compact, and we still got our chances. I think they are happy with 2-2 as well."

PSV was backed by 3,000 away fans in North London and the club rewarded them by paying for their game tickets. In return, the fans made themselves heard and seen at the Emirates Stadium.

"They kept singing, all through the match," continued De Jong. "They have the whole Champions League campaign. That's why we thanked them for so long just now, they support us everywhere we go."

'I'll just chip it'

Winger Couhaib Driouech, who got a chance from Bosz as one of the reserves getting a starting role, stole the show in the second half by scoring a pretty equaliser - chipping David Raya from outside the 16-yard box.

"I'm super happy," said Driouech. "Before games, I think about what situations might arise. Then I thought: I'll just chip it if I end up in one.

"You are down 7-1. But you hope to make the best of it, and I think we put on a very good game today."
