PSV manager Peter Bosz complimented his team after winning the 26th Eredivisie title in club history.

PSV beat Sparta Rotterdam 3-1 en route to a 26th and second-straight league title. The Eindhoven side came back from 9 points down to topple Ajax in the final five games of the season.

"After the home game against Ajax, I thought it wasn't going to happen anymore," Bosz told ESPN after the match. "The turnaround is that we started playing good football again. That started before Ajax, but we have continued that. We have been playing good football again for a long time."

PSV started the season off with an imperious 10-game winning streak before running into trouble in the new calendar year. The reigning champions started 2025 with one win from seven league games, but rebounded and ended with nine wins in their last 10 Eredivisie games.

'I was happy with the third'

Bosz has enjoyed the way his team recovered from that rough period. "I think we have been playing good football again for a long time," the former Ajax, Borussia Dortmund, and Olympique Lyon manager continued.

"Today as well. If you see how many chances we get, and how few we give away. That's why I also like the fact that we became champions the way PSV plays football. Going up 1-0, but keeping going and not going backwards. That's not us. That's also why I think we were right to become champions."

Against Sparta, PSV opened with attacking intentions, but had to wait for the opening goal. After Ajax got in front against FC Twente, Sparta scored the equaliser, and for five minutes, PSV had virtually lost the championship.

"We played well and got a lot of chances. But we scored only one goal, and then they equalised. That fits the picture for this season. But we scored the second right after that. And I was happy with the third, I must say."
