Feyenoord winger Igor Paixao (24) has agreed to a transfer to Olympique Marseille, Feyenoord have confirmed.

Paixao has signed a five-year contract at Marseille after spending the past three years in Rotterdam. Marseille pay Feyenoord a club-record fee of €30 million, which could rise to €35 million via bonuses.

The Brazilian winger joined Feyenoord from Brazilian side Coritiba in 2022 and gradually became their star player. In 129 games for the Rotterdam giants, Paixao scored 39 goals and provided 23 assists.

He played his best football this past season, scoring 18 goals and assisting 14 more in 47 games across all competitions. Paixao caught the eye of international fans in last year's UEFA Champions League after grabbing the Man of the Match awards against Sparta Prague in the League Phase and after the home game against AC Milan in the knock-out round.

The fan favourite already seemed to say goodbye to the Feyenoord fans in an Instagram post following the last game of the season against sc Heerenveen. "Thanks so much for the incredible moment this season, Feyenoord. You'll always be in my heart," the 24-year-old wrote.
