Eredivisie side Go Ahead Eagles have opened their preseason campaign with a rather impressive win as they prepare for their maiden European voyage.

The Europa League debutants, who qualified for the competition by winning the Dutch KNVB Beker, played their traditional opening preseason match against local amateurs SV Terwolde at Klein Milanello.

Go Ahead Eagles won the preseason match 19-0 in manager Melvin Boel's first game in charge. Goals came from Victor Edvardsen (3), Oscar Pettersson (3), Ofosu Oakye (3), Thibo Baeten (2), Jakob Breum (2), Leon Opdam (2), MIlan Smit (2), Salah Rahmouni, and Enric Llansana.

The Deventer club continue their preseason this Sunday with a match against German Regionalliga side Sportfreunde Lotte in Zutphen. The Eagles will then play Eerste Divisie side Helmond Sport, KV Mechelen, PAOK Saloniki, and Qatari side Al Duhail  in their remaining preseason games.

Go Ahead Eagles will open their official season with the Johan Cruyff Shield game against PSV on August 3rd.
