Benfica confirmed Sunday that Alexander Bah and Manu, both sustained serious anterior cruciate ligament injuries in yesterdays clash against Moreinse, and both are out for the rest of the season.
Benfica won 3-2 against Moreirense on Saturday, but the three points came at a high price for Bruno Lage and his men.
In a statement, Benfica revealed that Alexander Bah and Manu Silva have suffered complete ruptures in their left knee ligaments, which means they won't be in action again this season.
Bah came off in the 34th minute of the match against Moreirense and, just three minutes later, Manu Silva, Benfica's winter signing, suffered the same kind of injury, which, after tests, was confirmed to be a "left knee sprain with complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament".
Consequently both will be out fo the squad for Wednesday's Champions League game against AS Monaco.
