The latest set of Premier League fixtures saw several excellent performances from the division's top stars, as well as some newcomers, across a high-scoring weekend.

Crystal Palace continued their unbeaten run with a late 2-1 win over league leaders Liverpool, while Arsenal came from behind to beat Newcastle by the same scoreline.

Elsewhere, Sunderland defeated Nottingham Forest 1-0 and Manchester City thrashed Burnley 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

Flashscore has compiled an XI of the best performers, based on our player ratings system:

Goalkeeper

Robin Roefs (Sunderland) - 8.4

For the third time already this season, Sunderland goalkeeper Roefs features in our Team of the Week as the highest-rated shot stopper.

The Dutchman was once again imperious for the Black Cats in their 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest - making six saves to help his side to a third clean sheet of the campaign.

Defenders

Marcos Senesi (Bournemouth) - 8.3

Bournemouth defender Senesi has gone under the radar with his performances so far this season, but was exceptional once again in the Cherries' 2-2 draw at Leeds.

The Argentinian made seven clearances, three interceptions and two tackles while also winning 10 duels and providing the assist for Eli Junior Kroupi's late equaliser.

Omar Alderete (Sunderland) - 8.2

Another Sunderland player to feature in our side this week is Alderete, who netted the only goal of the game against Forest.

Alderete has quickly become a fan favourite amongst the Black Cats' support and continued his superb start to the season with nine clearances, five passes into the final third and even a 100 per cent dribbling success rate in an excellent showing at the City Ground.

Gabriel (Arsenal) - 9.1

Arsenal needed a late comeback to beat Newcastle 2-1 on Sunday afternoon, and in typical fashion, Gabriel headed in the winner for the Gunners from a 96th-minute set piece.

The Brazilian was at fault earlier in the game for Nick Woltemade's opener but bounced back emphatically by powering home a late header - on top of winning 12 duels, making 11 clearances and three interceptions.

Santiago Bueno (Wolves) - 8.7

Bueno netted for Wolves in a 1-1 draw away at Spurs - his first goal in the Premier League.

The defender's influence stretched far beyond his instinctive close-range finish, though, with Bueno making four clearances, four tackles, three interceptions and winning 12 duels.

Midfielders

Sean Longstaff (Leeds) - 9.6

On the other side of the 2-2 draw between Leeds and Bournemouth was midfielder Longstaff, who proved his Premier League quality in a superb performance.

The Englishman first assisted Joe Rodon before scoring himself with a delightful effort and had a major impact at both ends of the pitch.

Longstaff created two big chances while also winning 10 duels and making six tackles on his way to a 9.6 player rating - the highest of any over the weekend, making him our Premier League Player of the Week.

Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace) - 8.9

Wharton put in a Player of the Match performance during Crystal Palace's 2-1 win over champions Liverpool.

The 21-year-old ran the show at Selhurst Park, completing all three of his attempted dribbles, creating two big chances and winning five duels on a memorable afternoon for the Eagles, who are now the only club unbeaten in the Premier League.

Declan Rice (Arsenal) - 8.3

Arsenal once again turned to Rice in their time of need, with the Englishman setting up the Gunners' equaliser after a superb cross.

Aside from his usual creative influence, Rice also won seven duels in a combative display in midfield, on top of a staggering 30 accurate passes into the final third.

Forwards

Danny Welbeck (Brighton) - 8.2

Welbeck scored twice in Brighton's 3-1 win against Chelsea, first to equalise following Trevoh Chalobah's red card and then to round out the match in the 100th minute.

The Englishman is still going strong for the Seagulls and is now off the mark for the season after a superb showing at Stamford Bridge.

Erling Haaland (Manchester City) - 8.6

Haaland is one of two Manchester City attackers to make our Team of the Week following an excellent performance in their 5-1 win over Burnley.

The Premier League's top scorer added to his tally with two goals late on in the match, taking his total to eight for the season already, while also providing an assist for Matheus Nunes.

Jeremy Doku (Manchester City) - 8.5

The second City star to feature is Doku, who continued his frightening start to the campaign with another assist.

Doku was a constant threat throughout the match with Burnley - as has been the case all season - and completed 27 passes into the final third, eight dribbles and had three shots on target in what turned out to be another fantastic display from the Belgian.
