One year at Girona was enough for Ladislav Krejci to make another career move. The Czech international defender and former captain of Sparta Prague has left LaLiga for England, where he will play in the prestigious Premier League for Wolves. He has signed a contract until 2030.

“I’m very, very excited. Even the first day, it’s very exciting for me to see how to staff are working and everything around, the first view of the club.

"It's very beautiful, very amazing. So, I cannot wait for it," Krejci said in his first interview with Wolves's website.

The defender arrived in LaLiga last summer, and for Girona, it was one of the biggest investments in the club's history. The Catalans paid around eight million euros for Krejci, with another three million in bonuses.

Although Krejci was under contract until 2029, he impressed many teams with his performances last season, during which he also played in the Champions League.

Wolves will pay €30 million for the former Sparta captain. According to local papers, The Daily Express and Star, they will first send €7 million to Girona for a one-year loan deal and another €23 million for a permanent transfer after the season.

Krejci has signed a five-year contract with the English side, becoming the fourth Czech footballer in the current Premier League campaign, alongside Tomas Soucek of West Ham, and goalkeepers Antonin Kinsky at Tottenham and Vaclav Hladky at Burnley.

Krejci played 38 competitive games for Girona, including the league phase of the Champions League last season. Before that, he led Prague Sparta to two consecutive Czech league titles as the captain. He has 20 starts and three goals for the Czech national team.
