Huge surprises dominated Sunday's matches in the Danish Superliga as Vejle recorded their first win against FC Copenhagen in 25 years, while AGF lost for the first time in 12 matches when Sonderjyske won 3-2 in Aarhus. FC Midtjylland claimed top spot in the league by winning 2-0 in Randers, while Brondby moved into second spot by cruising to a 2-0 home win against Sonderjyske.

Vejle - FC Copenhagen

Vejle on Sunday sensationally recorded their first win against FC Copenhagen in 25 years to increase the pressure on Jacob Neestrup, who has seen the reigning Danish champions fall from grace in a dismal autumn season where they have struggled to find their stylish stride in the Danish Superliga and seen their Champions League campaign fall apart.

Vejle, who hadn't won a game since. 1 August sacked coach Ivan Prelec in the past week after four successive defeats, and instead put Steffen Kielstrup in charge to improve their season. FC Copenhagen dominated proceedings throughout the match, but against the run of play, the home team managed to take the lead after 73 minutes.

After a poor clearance from Munashe Garananga, the ball fell kindly at the feet of Tobias Bach, who subsequently karate-kicked the ball into the back of the net without any chance for FC Copenhagen keeper Dominik Kotarski. The visitors attempted a late comeback, but instead Amin Chiakha, who is on loan at Vejle from FC Copenhagen, doubled the lead shortly before the end.

Randers - FC Midtjylland

While winter is slowly tightening its grip on Denmark, FC Midtjyllands Franculino is still boiling hot in action for the Herning outfit. The Portuguese youngster and leading goalscorer in the Danish Superliga on Sunday afternoon scored his 14th season goal to help the Europa League leaders to a 2-0 win at Randers.

It was FC Midtjylland's 13th successive game without and after a goalless first half, the visitors showed their superiority during the second half to grab the three points.

Shortly into the second half, the visitors took the lead when Franculino rushed into the box to steer a pinpoint delivery from Aral Simsir into the back of the net. Just three minutes later, Simsir again turned provider, this time for Denil Castillo to double the lead.

AGF - Sonderjyske

AGF on Sunday surrendered their position at the top of the table, when they, after having led 2-1 at the interval, lost 3-2 to unsung Sonderjyske, much to the disappointment of the local crowd in Vejlby.

Sonderjyske surprisingly took the lead after 19 minutes when Matthew Hoppe could easily score from close range after Jesper Hansen had saved a shot from Mads Agger. AGF then deservedly restored parity eight minutes later when Patrick Mortensen headed home a cross from Gift Links and managed to take the lead two minutes before the break through a stinging drive from the edge of the box from Kristian Arnstad.

But Sonderjyske managed to turn the game on its head in the second half when Kristall Ingason volleyed home inside the box after an hour's play, and Mohamed Cherif sealed the win for the visitors ten minutes from the end when he chipped the ball over goalkeeper Jesper Hansen.

Brondby - FC Nordsjaelland

Brondby moved into second in the Danish Superliga table when they cruised to a 2-0 win at home against FC Nordsjaelland.

The first twenty minutes of the game were pure end-to-end action with a host of chances for both sides, and it was a minor miracle that the game was still scoreless after twenty minutes of play.

But with 22 minutes gone, the home side got the all-important opening goal when Oliver Villadsen burst through the Nordsjaelland defense and served up the onrushing Jacob Ambaek, who slid the ball into the net.

Only three minutes later, Brondby doubled the lead when Marko Divkovic volleyed home a cross from Filip Bundgaard. Brondby never looked back and even had chances to further the lead in the second half and deservedly claimed the three points.
