AGF moved into top spot as they recorded their fifth successive win in Viborg while Mike Tullberg had a poor start to his reign as coach of FC Midtjylland when they lost 1-0 against FC Nordsjaelland in Farum.

AGF on Sunday recorded their fifth consecutive win, securing a 2-1 victory away against Viborg. 1,400 Aarhus supporters had made their way to Viborg, and they saw AGF dominate the first half, taking the lead after 15 minutes when Nicolai Poulsen got the last touch to a corner from Gift Links to score from close range in a very crowded box.

The visitors' celebrations were, however, short-lived as the home side got back on level terms just three minutes later when a shot from Charly Nouck was saved by AGF-keeper Jesper Hansen, only for Thomas Jorgensen to direct the ball into the net on the rebound.

The visitors then recaptured the lead after 25 minutes when Kristian Arnstad converted a penalty after a shot from Tobias Bech had hit Jeppe Gronning on the arm in the box. Viborg managed to stifle the AGF dominance in the second half, but it wasn't enough to claim a point as the visitors held on for a much-deserved win.

FC Midtjylland haven't won a game in Farum in five years, and new coach Mike Tullberg had plenty of problems going into the match as the visitors were handicapped by the absence of Darío Osorio and Mikel Gogorza

And the Europa League contestants were immediately pegged back after eight minutes as Prince Amoako Junior burst into the visitors' box and finished off with a low shot past Elias Olafsson.

The home side followingly produced a number of chances to add to their lead against Tullberg's side who in the beginning looked completely out of sorts but Olafsson kept them in the game with a string of great saves.

Danish international midfielder Phillip Billing who was purhased from Bournemouth came close to scoring his first goal for the visitors but it would have been against the run of play.

The Midtjylland frustrations boiled over in the end as Pedro Bravo was sent off after receiving his second yellow card and FC Nordsjaelland could celebrate yet another win over the Jutland-outfit.

On Friday Randers got back to winning ways when they recorded a 1-0 win away against Sonderjyske. Steve Cooper got his coaching campaign at Brondby off to a great start with a 2-1 win in the "New Firm" derby against bitter rivals FC Copenhagen while Silkeborg got a much needed boost to their faltering season with a 2-1 home win against OB.
