A late equalizer from Gabriel Pereira gave FC Copenhagen a share of the spoils when they drew 1-1 with newly promoted OB in a packed Parken Stadium in the Danish capital just four days before their return leg in the Champions League playoff round against FC Basel.

August 23, 2025 looked like it would be the day when OB would get their win in the Parken Stadium in 22 years.

But in the final minutes, Gabriel Pereira changed the narrative with a somewhat random set-piece goal and secured a 1-1 draw for FC Copenhagen.

OB deservedly went into the break with a 1-0 lead after an impressive first half, but the home side managed to put the necessary pressure on the visitors for the equalizer.

In the table, Jacob Neestrup's men are still in top position, but could lose first place if Brondby win their match on Sunday.

From the first minute, OB played with greater energy and creativity and it paid off after three minutes when the ball fell kindly in the box for Jan-Fiete Arp, who scored easily from close range.

The home side did not have enough pace in their buildup and struggled to create chances while the visitors came close to doubling their lead through Arp, Noah Ganaus and Jay-Roy Grot.

Mohamed Elyounoussi came on from the start of the second half, but there were no signs of improvement in the first several minutes for the home side.

FCK enjoyed most possession but it was mostly indifferent movement of the ball.

However, when Andreas Cornelius was introduced after an hour, it added more life to FC Copenhagen's attacking intentions.

Jacob Neestrup also put German Onugkha on in the hope of profiting from the siege of the Odense goal.

The visitors, however, defended bravely but their rearguard was finally forced to surrender when Pereira took advantage of a poor clearance to restore parity.

FC Copenhagen now has four days to shake off the disappointment before the decisive playoff match against FC Basel in the Champions League qualifiers.
