Norwich have confirmed that they have signed Brondby's Danish international striker Mathias Kvistgaarden on a four-year deal.

Norwich City have completed the signing of Denmark international forward Mathias Kvistgaarden for a fee believed to be about £6.9m on a four-year-deal, with the option of a further 12 months.

He will team up again with former teammates Anis Ben Slimane and Oscar Schwartau at Carrow Road.

Kvistgaarden, who has had a sensational season for Brondby, made his debut for Denmark against Northern Ireland last month and scored 23 goals in 38 appearances for Brondby in 2024-25.

Kvistgaarden was, otherwise, heavily linked with Celtic in the previous January transfer window, while Eintracht Frankfurt and West Ham had also been mentioned as possible destinations this summer.

Ahead of joining the Canaries, Kvistgaarden said to the club website: "Hopefully, I can come with a lot of energy as I did in my former club. Energy and positiveness, a big smile on my face every day."

"I've heard so much about the club, I've talked with (Oscar) Schwartau and Anis (Ben Slimane) and they've only talked positive things about the club. When I had the interest from Norwich, I was just thinking that it could be a good match for me."

"I don't think that it's a secret that - it's also my goal here - we have to go up to the Premier League. That's the club's goal and also my goal."

City sporting director Ben Knapper added: “We’re absolutely thrilled to get this deal over the line and to welcome Mathias and his family to our club. Of course, for a player of this calibre, there was huge competition for his signature from right across Europe, but it speaks volumes for the work of everyone at Norwich City that he trusts us with the next step in his career."
