Anderlecht will be handicapped by the absence of leading goalscorer Kasper Dolberg for the rest of the regular season as the Danish international is struggling to return to fitness following a knee injury.

Scoring no less than 20 goals, Kasper Dolberg has been a big revelation this season for Anderlecht.

However, the Danish international has lately been sidelined with a knee injury he picked up against Charleroi earlier this month.

Initially the club were hoping for a quick return to action for the Danish striker who joined Anderlecht in July 2023.

But Dolberg is now doubtful to return before the end of the regular season.

"Kasper Dolberg (knee), Yari Verschaeren (groin) and Tristan Degreef (back) are not yet match fit. After various additional examinations and given the favourable developments of the past few days, their training load will be gradually increased in the coming weeks. They are expected to return to the matchday squad in the run-up to the play-offs", says Anderlecht on their website.

Kasper Dolberg is thus probably also doubtful for Denmarks crucial Nations League Nations League quarter-final fixtures against Portugal on 20 - and 23 March.

The Belgian playoffs start at the end of March..
